Today I used iMovie to put together the first draft of my trailer. The most challenging part was inserting the voiceover, which I concluded to do by using the audio only tool. I then had to experiment with the volume in order to get a balance between the diegetic and non diegetic sound, as I encountered the problem of the characters' dialogue being drowned out by the music. As I have two music transitions in my trailer I had to make sure the volume decreased towards the end of one piece, the next increasing, so that it would flow well but also change the mood for the audience. I then added intertitles, which were relatively easy as there are already presets on iMovie that I could use, I decided upon a minimalist fade in and fade out transition as my film trailer is socially realistic, therefore has no need for special effects. I may change the colour of the text, but will keep the black background so that it is not too over the top.Wednesday, 2 March 2016
